Vision & Planning

Your session is continuing its efforts to seek and plan for God’s future at Central Presbyterian. We very much appreciate feedback from members who participated in the fall focus groups around the theme of a Downtown Church. From these focus groups we learned that the members see several critical issues to move our church forward. These include:

  • Congregational Communication
  • Connections and Involvement
  • Spiritual Growth and Christian Education
  • Leadership and Leadership Development
  • “Putting it All Together: Moving Forward”

We are highlighting one of these issues per month over the next few months and listen to your thoughts about our next steps. We plan for opportunities for all of us to provide input through surveys and discussions. We hope that every member and guest will contribute to session’s understanding of the opportunities and challenges we face.

The fourth topic, the one that we want to highlight this month, is Leadership and Leadership Development — the process by which the congregation selects, trains and empowers members for leadership roles.

The third topic was Spiritual Growth and Christian Education. We strongly believe that effective congregations have a strong and vital education program that attracts a large following of adults, children and youth.

The third survey is still on-line: Spiritual Growth and Christian Education

The second topic was Connections and Involvement — from how we reach out to the community and welcome visitors, to how we help people get connected and involved with one or more of the many ministries at Central.

The second survey is still on-line: Connections and Involvement

The first topic was Congregational Communication — from how we welcome new members and reach out to the community, to how we inform each other about all that happenings and activities at Central.
